Student Universe is having a Black Friday sale on United international flights giving a $75 discount per direction.
One example that works is on December 30 between Newark EWR to Toronto YYZ, down from $80.75 to $5.75. Destinations/origins in warmer climates will be pricier but should work with the discount too.
Other departing airports (Chicago? Denver?) will work as well. Give some others a try.
There are two codes to use, UABF1 from the US to another country and UABF2 from another country to the US so book two one-ways instead of a round trip to maximize savings.
A registered account is required but a school email address is not.
